The Russian backed President was elected in a fraudulent election and had been forced to run hide behind Putin's skirt. The Attorney General was another Russian backed official who was trying to subvert the legal system and give Russia more influence. The Trump administration was happy to aid in this endeavor by firing the US Ambassador and others who would not cooperate.

The GOP has given shelter to Putinites for many years. This is kind of strange for the "Better dead than red" party. Why they admire a dictator who murders anyone he sees as a threat in order to retain power is anyone's guess.

To add to the embarrassment of being a Trump supporter, Putin has to go and expose Russia as a corrupt oligarchy, incapable of exerting power outside its own borders. Now days, Russian love is very unpopular and our Putinaphiles are keeping their mouths shut for the time being.

It's one of those things like "stuff Trump said on camera." They don't want to discuss it outside the group. If someone keeps asking, they get all dismissive.

Judge grants Fani Willis extension in Trump case after fake elector's latest stunt

A so-called "alternate" elector for Georgia's 2020 presidential election prompted a judge to grant Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis an additional two weeks before deciding on former President Donald Trump's motion to end her investigation.

On Friday, an attorney for former fake elector Cathy Latham petitioned the court to join Trump's motion to bar Willis from pursuing a case against Trump and others for criminal interference in Georgia's election.

Trump's motion argues that a special grand jury "unconstitutionally derived" evidence in its report recommending more than a dozen people be indicted.

Willis had been ordered to respond to the motion by Monday. But Judge Robert McBurney granted a last-minute extension.

"On 28 April 2023, Cathleen Latham, one of the 'alternate' electors advanced by Georgia's Republican Party in the aftermath of the 2020 general election in Georgia, filed a motion joining former President Trump's motion seeking to quash the final report of the Special Purpose Grand Jury in this matter," McBurney wrote. "Both motions also seek the disqualification of the Fulton County District Attorney's Office from any further investigation into or prosecution of any alleged interference with the 2020 general election. So that all arguments can be considered together, the District Attorney's Office deadline for filing a combined response is extended to 15 May 2023."

Willis has not said if she intends to indict Trump in the case.

ADAMS TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) — Voters in one of Michigan's most conservative counties have ousted a small-town clerk accused of improperly handling voting equipment after casting doubt on President Joe Biden’s election victory.

Stephanie Scott lost Tuesday's recall election in Hillsdale County’s Adams Township to Suzy Roberts, who got 406 votes to Scott's 214, according to unofficial results reported by the county clerk’s office.

Roberts, a Republican who identifies as an independent, filed as non-party-affiliated in the recall election because Michigan law does not allow for challengers to file under the same political party, the Hillsdale Daily News reported previously.

Scott had run unopposed as a first-time Republican candidate when she was chosen in the November 2020 election to handle the voting in Adams Township, a reliably Republican community where the ticket of Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence received nearly 76% of the vote that year.


But she joined a crew of GOP elections officials around the nation who have questioned the accuracy of U.S. voting systems. Scott is among a number of elections officials around the country accused of mishandling voting equipment in their zeal to uncover fraud.

Before Tuesday’s recall election against Scott, her challenger said that “the lying has to stop.”

“Somehow, nationwide, we have to make lying wrong,” said Roberts, 69. “If you got caught in the lie there was a feeling of shame. It has to be wrong again.”

A message seeking comment was left Wednesday with Roberts. Scott and her attorney did not answer questions or provide comment before Tuesday’s election, and additional messages seeking comment were left Wednesday.

During preparations for her township’s November 2021 election, Scott said she had voting accuracy concerns and had considered paper ballots and a hand count before settling on using the same voting system.

The state intervened after Scott allegedly refused to allow a contractor to perform preventive maintenance and failed to conduct accuracy tests, among other issues. She was stripped of her duties running township elections in October 2021.

When the Hillsdale County clerk’s office took custody of an election tabulator and a voter-assist terminal from township offices to prepare for a public accuracy test, they discovered the tabulator’s tablet had been removed. It was later seized by Michigan State Police after Scott allegedly refused to turn it over.

One of Scott’s supporters, Adams Township Supervisor Mark Nichols, also lost in Tuesday’s recall election. Challenger Randy G. Johnson bested Nichols by 394 to 222 votes, unofficial results show.

The main requirement to be a MAGA Republican is to be either stupid, or an accomplished liar. The terms are not mutually exclusive. There are plenty of stupid liars in the MAGA camp. They're good for a laugh on late night shows, such as the woman who said Trump never cheated on Melania and if he did, she would never vote for him again.

The accomplished liars have abandoned the big lie. They've been forced to move on, or lose their audience. They can be found talking about Hunter's laptop and Ukrainian corruption. The problem they face is keeping the stupid in line. The stupid still believe the big lie, which is a dilemma for the liars. They can't publicly admit Trump lost the election. All they can do is ignore the question.

This goes for Trump's criminal behavior, as well. When asked a direct question, they'll put their nose in the air and stolidly refuse to answer. Their mission is to not just keep the sheep in the pen, they have to bring more stupid into the fold. They are like Mormon missionaries, but don't actually believe in the message.

After a while, they are little more than an object of sport and people ask questions just to make them drop out of the conversation.

And the cult followers become dependent on the cult leader and share their psychosis. So it also becomes impossible for them to admit Trump lost the election.
