I'll give you this much: corporate greed, money, law suits, gmo, cancer, playing god stuff aside... It might not be a good idea to repeatedly toxify the earth so that only one crop can grow. In my home state there is a state park with a creek around farm country and the creek is notoriously polluted. Nobody can swim in it. It has no life. All the fish in this park are in man made ponds stocked with fish farms. I always thought it was weird that I was not allowed to swim in the creek when we were camping, growing up. Miles away is another park with a spring fed creek where people tube and fish and stuff, and they even bottle the spring water and sell it. They would have you believe all the pollution is controlled, but we also live above a giant aquifer where everybody gets their drinking water. it's sand filtered. it puts out the cleanest spring water. but pollution park and tubing park aren't that far apart. the aquifer country people protested transcanada for fear of polluting the ground water, and yet we have all these farms and pollution park.
